SGA Baltic Student Chapter


The Society for Geology Applied to Mineral Deposits Baltic Student Chapter was created in autumn 2009. Developing student activity converted into the international team of students interested in economic geology. It gathers both PhD and undergraduates from Poland, Finland and Sweden.

The regular point of our activity is organization of general meetings to enable members exchange of opinions and present their scientific activity. During the meetings we organize fieldtrips to mines, related production plants and geological research points. It is very important for studying people to increase their practice.

The goals of the Baltic Student Chapter are:
• the improvement of personal knowledge and experience through participation in conferences, short courses, lectures, field trips, general meetings
• international cooperation through scientific investigation projects associated with mineral deposits, ore geology, mining industry, mineral resources, exploration and research methodology
• dissemination of investigation results through publications and abstracts international exchange of experiences and knowledge through general meetings and website
